The Brief

    • The first case of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) in a commercial poultry operation in Georgia has been confirmed, leading to the suspension of all in-state poultry events.

    • The Georgia Department of Agriculture’s Emergency Management and State Agricultural Response Teams (SART) are conducting depopulation and cleaning operations at the site, which houses about 45,000 broiler breeders.
